It all started 300 years ago with a simple belief: that food is a connection, a story, and a bond. With a variety of gourmet offerings on display, their passion and expertise bring people together, helping them share in the moments that matter.

Standing on a family practice of excellence and a distinct flavor of tradition, Prime Cut’s move to a new location presented the perfect opportunity to slice into the heart of what they stood for. GCNY was tasked with redefining their brand identity and showcasing their heritage, helping to establish them as the go-to destination for premium kosher meats.

    Stripping away a legacy of superiority in favor of modernizing would not accomplish the goal at hand. Prime Cut’s tradition was its edge, a distinct advantage over the other competitors in a crowded market. We needed to give Prime Cut a clean, current, and contemporary feel while staying true to their flavorful roots.

  • The GCNY Partnership

    Tradition Served Fresh

    We began by drawing from the original logomark, preserving its heritage and tradition. Keeping its essence intact, we reimagined it into the shape of an ox—a symbol of strength and craftsmanship. To modernize it, we refined the form with sharp edges for a sleek, contemporary feel. With Prime Cut’s recent name change to include "Butcher," we strategically placed it beneath the logomark to reinforce the brand’s core identity—highlighting its commitment to high-quality meats and its five-generation legacy, ensuring clarity and immediate recognition of what Prime Cut stands for. Prime Cut’s updated brand identity was then seamlessly integrated across all touchpoints, from environmental graphics and signage to labels, packaging, and recipe cards. Looking fresh and feeling familiar, Prime Cut’s new look was now as delicious as it was sharp.
